Publisher's Summary
Set 300 years after the events of Alien: Out of the Shadows and Alien: River of Pain, Alien: Sea of Sorrows deals with the rediscovery of dormant Xenomorphs (Aliens) in the abandoned mines of LV-178, the planetoid from Alien: Out of the Shadows, which has now been terraformed and renamed New Galveston.
The Weyland-Yutani Corporation, reformed after the collapse of the United Systems Military, continue their unceasing efforts to weaponise the creatures, eliciting the help of Alan Decker, who is forced to join a team of mercenaries sent to investigate an ancient excavation lurking deep beneath the planet's toxic desert, dubbed the Sea of Sorrows.
Somewhere in that long-forgotten dig lies the thing the company wants most in the universe - a living Xenomorph. Decker doesn't understand why the company needs him until his genetic heritage comes back to haunt him. Centuries ago one of his ancestors fought the Aliens, launching a bloody vendetta that was never satisfied. That was when the creatures swore revenge on his forbear, 'the Destroyer', Ellen Ripley...and all her descendants.
This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multiaward-winning Dirk Maggs, best known for his adaptations of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere for the BBC - is the sequel to Audible Originals' Alien: Out of the Shadows (nominated for Best Audio Drama at the 2017 Audies) and Alien: River of Pain.
Full cast: Tom Alexander, Mark Arnold, Sagar Arya, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Laurence Bouvard, Philip Bullcock, John Chancer, Stockard Channing, Cedric Cirotteau, Simon Darwen, Andrea Deck, Oris Erhuero, Tony Gardner, Walles Hamonde, Andrew James Spooner, Lorelei King, Tayla Kovacevic Ebong, Laurel Lefkow, Sandra-Mae Luyck, Theo Maggs, Alan Marriott, Gary Martin, Pauline Mclynn, Eric Meyers, Naoko Mori, Sarah Pitard, Kerry Shale, Thomas Stroppell, Emma Swan, Martin T Sherman, Steve Toussaint and Ryan Wichert.

The horrors continue and people still don't learn
The performance was great but the story line for it being a few hundred years in the future, it was pretty much the same as always. A corrupt corporation with an Android/synthetic person deep in the plot and stupid greedy people hired in key positions and after all this time and with all the information about the Aliens they still know nothing about how they reproduce and how to catch them and yet they still send under prepared people in the retrieval positions with absolutely no hope of success (sound familiar). Yup! no change just different names with the same habits and results. But like I said the performance was terrific, like being at the movies but with no screen. I did enjoy it.

Affirrrrmative!
I wish Ridley Scott would make movies from these stories! Great addition to the already fleshed out Ripley saga cannon.
Performances were amazing and it really took me on the journey with the marines and Decker.
I really want more! Worth every penny/credit.
A must for any Aliens fan.

This is SO GOOD
I was hesitant thinking this won't be great because it's set 200+ years after the nostromo events. But somehow the spirit of the franchise is kept alive. If only the movies could have been as good as this!

Not as good as the others
Story is actually pretty weak when compared to Out of the Shadows and River Of Pain. Still ..production and sounds are great, music and all the cast are good. It’s as much as part of the series but just..the weakest link. Not an essential listen like the others but..glad I heard it.

Wonderful and interesting - didnt want it to stop.
Dirk Maggs has done it again and with this vision of the future and a carefully created and crafter characters and cast of professionals, this was one of the most enjoyable derivatives of the Alien saga I have enjoyed. If you like Alien and have followed the Alien agenda - then you will love this...
I hope there is a follow up to this - this story provides a wealth of opportunity to continue to expand on the Alien universe!
