This is a great spy thriller.

The narration is a little deadpan, but once you get into it it’s hard to imagine it being any better.

Enjoyed this book so much I immediately got Jason's second book Palace of Treason from my local library as I did not like the narration of the audio version. Was not disappointed as it was excellent and I have now down loaded The Kremlin's Candidate.

This book fulfilled the gap in my espionage diet. Well written, full of tradecraft and with plenty of twists. A great listen and good reader. I have immediately bought the sequel.

Well fleshed out protagonists. Antagonists all a bit same same - characters not as complex. However, a gripping story with lots of detail and moments that will leave you shaking your head, admiring the spycraft that this author has masterfully written

Red Sparrow is a well crafted and thought out spy novel and the audio performance by Jeremy Bobb makes the story more absorbing and enthralling. The descriptive pictures the story creates are detailed and intricate and enhanced by the audio production. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment - highly recommended and I hope the movie can live up to high expectations.

Unfortunately I heard/read the second book before the first. The comparison was significant. The second book narration with authentic Russian accents and language was enthralling and believable. I loved the portrayal of Dominika’s voice and character and that was the reason I endured the first book. I already liked the characters. Downside - on balance, the Russians are portrayed with very little love or affection for each other which seems biased. I will now buy the third book.

A good listen and am looking forward to hearing the next book,,, But,,, after the first few times of hearing the recipes being read out I got pretty sick of hearing them. I understand why they are there in the story as it breaks it up a bit and refreshes your mind but they do get a bit annoying! Also I wish the narrator gave the Russian characters a Russian accent rather than American!. Got a bit confusing at times and was left wondering which character was which. But all in all it wasn't a bad book and get better the more you get into it, more particularly towards the end.
