I’m an ordinary girl ... but a brooding vampire is about to turn my world upside down

Christopher Deverell is caretaker of the Red Claw Family, a brood of vampires so blood-thirsty that they were forced into slumber for a century by the Council of Elders.

Nell Cartwright’s life has been torn apart after the tragic deaths of her parents. Desperate, she turns to her reclusive aunt in Angel Falls.

Not all is as it seems in the small town … and now an ancient evil is awakening ... as well as her feelings for an enigmatic vampire.

Christopher and Nell are plunged into a dangerous world where Old Magick and supernatural creatures make for heart-stopping adventure.

Anya Kelner has created a thrilling, suspenseful and heart-warming saga set in a rich world of mystery and danger.

Slow moving

Slow and boring, could summarise the entire plot in a sentence. Not sure how this is an entire series.

audio book is stellar

Audio Book review - Narrator Courtney Locks - highly regarded voice actor - recreates this vivid world with just her voice 5 star narration.

Paranormal Romantic Suspense & Mystery - keeps you guessing. I like that this ink goes to the beat of its own unique drum not conforming
( welcome stance since theres monotony & sameness in Vampire reads atm) and certainly not providing all the answers yet - keeping the reader to surmise on each characters motivation living & not dying in quirky unorthodox Angel Falls

Where the implausible/plausible dont matter, nor meetings need time or depth when fated factors and dire magic is at play - this is Fantasy.
For me there no instalust , theres attraction, interest and a pull to a journey to open to all the strange.

I started reading, but switched to audio book as the expression language was certainly worth a listen.Plus I wanted to hear a couple of suspenseful creepy scenes spoken. Nell is likeable whilst human there is certainly a ethereal edge to her. We know Christopher is a vampire, starting to challenge his status quo. but who else is something more. Found Family - I love Amara to bits - I almost thought Nell and Amara were going to be a couple with their instalove of books, quickly becoming friends and supporting each other through what ever this paranormal world is as they unravel answers.

There are several thought provoking elements from are criminals deserving to be used like this, who really are the villains and how much blood is truly on everyone elses hands.

I just cant decide if this sits in upper YA or NA. btw what a hot cover!! it caught my eye and I had to check it out.
