About this listen

From the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender comes a YA novel starring Avatar Kyoshi.

After years of searching for the next Avatar, the four nations have found peace with Avatar Yun - until Kyoshi, Yun’s friend and servant, demonstrates remarkable bending abilities herself. With the identity of the true Avatar at stake, Kyoshi and her fiery friend Rangi flee the Avatar mansion and find supporters in the daofei - outlaws living in the shadows of the Earth Kingdom. But while Kyoshi, Rangi, and their daofei friends face off against underworld rivals, those who seek to control the Avatar draw close.

This thrilling first installment maps Kyoshi’s journey from a girl of humble origins to the merciless pursuer of justice destined to become a legend in the world of Avatar.

I loved this, the characters, the story, the consistency with the ALTA lore, while also expanding on it. It is the perfect accompaniment to the Legend of Aang, unlike the Legend of Kora, which never quite got there. The narrator did an excellent job, she was pleasant to listen to, and she created very distinct character voices. I am so happy they have expanded the stories from this incredible universe, I can't wait to listen to the next one and any others they make the audio versions of (fingers crossed they do them all). I have read some of the darkhorse comics, they are alright, but don't quite draw me in like this story did. I can imagine every Avatar fan will love this.

To keep it short it’s a fun take on the avatar cycle which leaves room for more growth and has an incredibly smart villain

Great take on a avatar
