Terrible narration ruins an otherwise great book

Unfortunately the narrator for this book is so bad that I wasn’t able to push through more than a couple of hours before giving up. Her intonation is all over the place which makes it hard to follow, and she mispronounces basic English words so regularly that I found I needed to regularly go back and try to decipher (“iz-lund” and “iz-lat” instead of island and islet, “tie-RAN-nie” instead of tyranny etc). I was so disappointed as the content has been so far really good. I tried to put up with it for the sake of the book but just found it so distracting that I’ve had to give up. Such a shame.

An actionable process

A great book for beginners! This book is exactly what I needed. It has everything you need to be introduced into the topic, although it's size limits it from being in depth.

pronunciation??? please

The reader could not pronounce basic words like autonomy, facilitate, and many more I can't remember. Can't even pronounce the name of the founder of attachment theory John bowlby. And continuously. it's as if a it's a text to voice robot.
good content but the voice was so painful it just about ruined it.

Lots of repetition

I find lots of details are just repetition of the previous chapters.
This audiobook should be 2-hour long at most.
The narrator’s voice is quite high pitch and not easy to consume.

narrator?

if this was a professional narrator she ought to be very embarrassed as she could not pronounce half of the words, making the understanding and comprehension of this book far more difficult.

Sadly, not recommended.

For a start, it would’ve been nice if Ms Skalij had been told by somebody how to pronounce John Bowlby‘s surname, who is after all, the father of attachment theory.
(It is not pronounced, as she does, “Bolbaij” but “Bowlbee”, which would’ve been pretty obvious anyhow.

The narration, Sadly, is irritating. The book does not have a lot to offer, even to laypeople -Mainly pointing out the obvious without much discernment.

I am an integrative psychotherapist working this individuals and couples and I was looking for a book that would help my clients to get a better grasp of attachment theory and to have the joy of discovering their own sties, their partners styles and how to move forward together… While this book offers suggestions, the narration is sadly very irritating (The narrator has a likeable voice, but somehow the narration is not at all smooth and sound like a computer voice that’s running on doubletime)and it is not very interactive. I would, However, strongly recommend the book “Attached” by Levine, A. et al. Which is a real gem and thankfully focuses on adult attachment styles, which is so important in relationships.

This book seems to ignore the fact beautifully illustrated by Levine that childhood attachment styles don’t necessarily coincide with our adult attachment styles.
Sadly I would not at all recommend this.
