About this listen

Atlantis: The Antediluvian World was published in 1882 by the Minnesotan author Ignatius L. Donnelly. He argues that all known ancient civilizations were descended from this lost land which once existed in the Atlantic Ocean, opposite the Mediterranean Sea. The author claimed that the description of this island given by Plato is not fable, but veritable history.

I want to enjoy it...but the reader keeps speaking in stupid accents and mis-speaking sentences. Unbearable.

Just a couple of examples from this narration, iron is literally pronounced “i-ron”. Metallurgy is pronounced “meh-tug-lur-gee” not “meh-tug-lur-jee”. Herodotus has the syllables stressed completely wrong. “Illinois” is pronounced “Ill-uh-noiys”, yes, he actually says the silent “s”.

The narration is so bad I can’t get through more than a few minutes at a time without another major error occurring. Names and places and general words are pronounced so badly I don’t know what he’s talking about half the time. It’s extremely distracting.

The story is great, the narration is absolutely awful and inexcusable. I should not have to waste credits on a product this poor.
