Having unlocked his Dantian, Ash has grown in power, grown to the point where he has others who depend on him for that power. In this world of martial arts, only the strong and the ruthless survive. Everyone else is merely a stepping stone on their path of Cultivation, or an obstacle to be overcome, or knock down. Utilizing the Hall, the voice in his head that calls itself Locke, and all the powers available to him, Ash has begun his own journey of Cultivation.

Steve doesn’t care who he was. He knows more than enough to realize it doesn’t matter at all. Now living in what had once been the Creeplands and maintaining a thriving farm there, they are under constant siege from the Creep itself. It's still better than life in Lamals. And that’s just how it is. After taking over the Citadel, removing Lynn from her place of power, stopping the Creep’s advance, and starting to take over part of the Creeplands, he was certainly making a difference for himself, humans, and men everywhere.

Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Sebastian Frost was a man with an interesting reputation. He’d killed 12 giants, eight heroes, a duke, and even a prince. But nobody ever talked about any of that. All they talked about was the deviant, disgusting, detestable Herald of Shalia that shamelessly laid with elves. That was because in the strange world based on game mechanics Frost found himself in, laying with elves was somehow treated like laying with animals. Naturally, they weren’t calling him Herald Frost the giant killer....

Publisher's Summary
After years of slavery, subjected to torments of body and spirit by the inhuman Kin, Travis Sterling can barely recall his old life. Memories of Earth, and of disappointing his family barely seem real anymore.
But even without the occasional voice in his head, Trav knows he’s different. A vast amount of rune crafting knowledge has mysteriously taken up residence in his mind; too bad he doesn’t have any mystical power. If he could find a way to actually use any rune magic, his situation could change.
The stubborn, unbroken man burns for justice, but despite his strange abilities, he stands no chance against the Kin. In the near future, when Trav comes face to face with complete destruction, his mettle and creativity will be tested. Will he perish, or will he grasp a chance to shake the foundations of his new world?
A VeilVerse Story.
Note: This series was written for adults. Asgard Awakening contains morally grey situations, polyamory, fantasy violence, and slavery. Please do not attempt dangerous rune magic at home.

Another good series to listen to
Since 2 of my favorite authors decided to write parallel in the same universe I've been very excited. And now that I've listened to their first books I'm not disappointed! The world is interesting, the characters have depth and the story is a page turner (or the audio equivalent). The narration is also a piece of art. My advice: Give it a try. The other author is William D. Arand with 'Cultivating Chaos'. I hope this becomes a long series of good books :D

Maybe I was just spoiled by cultivating chaos
I may be biased because I loved ash so much but for me getting through this book was a huge chore. I strongly disliked trav with his bipolar and fake feeling tough guy attitude, it just grated at me the entire book. I also feel like nothing happened throughout this book that had any meaning. The whole book just seemed to be the author introducing new female character for trav to sleep with, after sleeping with that female start complaining about their species, to be finished up by thinking of ash. As always I did find Andrea P's voices for characters really enjoyable though

Furry fan fiction
I got about halfway through this book before finally giving up on it. The main character is a thuggish Mary-Sue... who also happens to be a whiny dim-witted idiot. The author couldn't seem to go more than a couple paragraphs without mentioning how he spent 3 years as a slave and that the antagonist killed his wife. It was repetitive enough that were it a drinking game, you'd be dead an hour in. the dialogue was atrocious, and don't get me started on his anthropomorphic she wolf companion in which the master/slave roles are reversed. Her entire purpose in the story seems to be solely for the sexual gratification of the main character, allowing the author to vicariously live out some sort of sexually repressed furry fetish fantasy. The two suddenly, randomly have sex for seemingly no reason, as though the rest of the story is merely a vehicle for man on beast sex scenes that thankfully usually faded to black without too much detail. The narrator's voice, while young sounding, wasn't bad, but neither was it a stellar performance. In this case I think he made the best of the material he was given. The story... had some potential, even with a Mary Sue protagonist, but I feel it was told poorly, with atrocious dialogue, and a tendency to simultaneously brow beat and good over the main characters history as a slave, but by the half way point, I just couldn't take it anymore.

Disappointed
Very dissatisfied in this book. I listened to the other book before this one and it’s ten times the story. The mc never encounters any struggles and never grows despite the back story of struggle for 2 years. The story starts off ok but devolves into our mc demanding answers and acting like a punk much of the time all while growing in power by doing nothing. I won’t be reading this sequel.

A Fun Delve into a Norse Universe
I was initially skeptical of this book because of the plethora of Norse stores that are popular now. I was pleasantly surprised with The VeilVerse stories. They take only enough to build believeable worlds with intriguing character development and build in whole new directions. You don’t need to read any other VeilVerse book to get this story, but you can read about another concurrent story line featuring Ash in Cultivating Chaos.

An excellent Ride!
Another great start to a fine series I’m sure. I find the characters interesting and complex and can’t wait to see them mature. The plot is a very interesting question of power and sensibility. Andrea Parsneau has done another masterful job in the narration, and has brought all of the characters to life. I will be waiting for the next books in the VeilVerse series they have both been excellent. I love your work Blaise Corvin!

Seeingthe world through one eye
So, I’m going to break this down a little differently, because I will be reviewing Cultivating Chaos right after this, so I’m going to bunch up Andrea’s narration onto the second book, for reasons. So, first of all, Kudos to Corvin and Arand for having the balls to try and pull something like this off. WE now have a LITRPG Thieves World type of Universe, where they can invite any other authors in to play in their sandbox. I could easily see (just to name a few) Dakota Krout, James Hunter, Dave Willmarth, MSE or even Harmon Cooper getting in to this playground. Or none of them. This is just to exciting an idea. The veilverse is about various worlds that are interconnected by dimensional shifting curtains wear reality wears thin. People can crossover through these curtains and interact with new worlds. Here the main characters in both books come from Earth, although Corvin’s character is sent to Asgard. While there he is given the mantle of Odin, and slowly grows into his role as a new god. Trav is a good guy who has some horrible things done to him as a slave in an underground mine. When the time comes he makes an escape and sets about growing his power by binding women to him as he goes along. He learns to settle into his new abilities such as runecrafting and knowing things that Odin knew. The book started out looking like it was going to be a straight up revenge book, but it quickly evolved into something so much more. I have to say, I have been patiently waiting on my Delvers, but so long as books like this keep coming I won’t complain. . . much. Still waiting on the Luck Stat part duex. Corvin certainly crafts a great story and populates his world with interesting powers, people, and prices. I don’t think that anything that Trav does doesn’t come without a cost to him in one way or another. One thing that sort of struck me odd was that Blaise does try out the Harem gig at last, and I’m not sure if he went that route because of who he partnered with or if he just wanted to give it a try. Again, not a bad thing, just not something I expected out of Blaise. I daresay that he even went further than Arand did in the naughty dept. The world that he builds with the Kin, the Asgardian, the other new gods all comes together is cohesive universe that just sucks you in. My only possible complaint is that this book is shorter than Cultivating Chaos. I would have liked to have seen them be about the same length for a starter series, but I am not complaining because the quality is there and the characters are compelling. I cannot say I like one MC over another, but that I simply cannot wait for the next book in this series. Andrea’s part will come up in the Cultivating Chaos segment. Final Score 8.4 stars. Smooth like lagavulin whiskey. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. Getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review. If this review helped, please press the YES below. Thank you immensely!!! As seen on the LITRPG AUDIOBOOK PODCAST, please check it out on Youtube.com

Exciting crossover.
I read William D.Arand's Cultivating Chaos first and decided to give this book a go as the pair of authors are working on the 'VeilVerse' project together. Both books compliment each other well and have plenty of action and interesting plots to keep you hooked after the first few chapter. Andrea Parsneau is an 3xcellent narrator and really brings extra weight to these stories. Already looking forward to more in this series!
