Publisher's Summary

Under Milk Wood is Dylan Thomas's undisputed and unforgettable masterpiece - an affectionate, but hilarious portrait of a small Welsh town. The classic 1954 recording, featuring a perfect cast led by Richard Burton as "First Voice", is rightly considered to be definitive. This collection also includes two earlier radio programs: Return Journey to Swansea and Quite Early One Morning, read by Dylan Thomas and others. Enjoyable in their own right, they also provide a fascinating insight into the process that led towards Under Milk Wood.

An Exquisite Use of Language

'And before you let the sun in, mind he wipes his shoes.'

What an exquisite use of language this is. I could listen to it over and over and continue to find pearls in the way Thomas turns a phrase. The very essence of Wales is captured here and by allowing yourself in soak in the story you can truly get a grasp on heart and soul of the Welsh.

I can see myself listening to this on long journeys for years to come. For now I think its all about no good boyo, but maybe not forever.
