Publisher's Summary

The unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl: The Artic Incident, read by the actor Gerry O’Brien.

Someone has been supplying Class-A illegal human power sources to the goblins. Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit is sure that her archenemy, 13-year-old Artemis Fowl, is responsible.

But is he? Artemis has his own problems to deal with: his father is being held to ransom and only a miracle will save him. Maybe this time a brilliant plan just won’t be enough. Maybe this time Artemis needs help....

Good story. Ok reader.

It was a good story but more character voices could have been used. Overall 4 stars.

great stories, different narrators disappoints

I love the Artemis Fowl audiobooks!!
While this narrator and the other one before it are both good in their own right. Nathaniel Parker brings the story to life with unparalleled voice acting, and has read the whole series. Not sure why audible chose different narrators when his series is so brilliantly well done.

Great novel and audio

Really enjoyed the audio on this one, great narration. My only gripe with the story is that Eoin Colfer reuses a lot of the same figures of speech to describe certain aspects of the story. Otherwise, a great Artemis Fowl adventure.

I miss Nathaniel Parker.

Gerry O'Brien is definitely a good voice actor and obviously his natural Irish accent fits the theme of the book, and the voice of Artemis Fowl himself. But when portraying other characters, he just sounds exactly the same. There's no range, so it can be difficult to pick which character is being voiced until the narration states it. Particularly for female characters

He also cannot mimic any accent besides Irish. There's a fair amount of Russian accented dialogue in this book and I'm sorry to say Gerry absolutely butchers it.

I remember listening to this series narrated by Nathaniel Parker, and it's world's apart in terms of quality and immersion. The last book in the series still has the original Parker recording and after refreshing my memory I'm confident this goes further than nostalgia.

I wish there was a way to get the old Parker readings of this series.
