-Lupin, mira esta vieja fotografía -le dije pasándole a mi amigo una vieja fotografía que había comprado en una tienda al lado del Sena. Lupin la examinó durante unos segundos y concluyó:
-La foto es de muy mala calidad, pero el tema es agradable: el rincón del antiguo patio rodeado de columnas griegas, con el reloj de sol y el estanque de peces. Con esos bancos de piedra donde parece que el tiempo se hubiera detenido. Me gusta, pero, ¿qué es lo que tiene de especial?
Acercándome a la ventana de mi estudio, donde tenía colocado el telescopio, le dije a Lupin:
-Ven, acércate y mira.
Extrañado, Lupin accedió a mis deseos y enfocó:
-Ah, ahora entiendo. Es exactamente la misma imagen de la foto.
-Sí, y mira la fecha.
