Publisher's Summary

From acclaimed screenwriter John August, Arlo Finch in the Lake of the Moon continues the spellbinding fantasy adventure series about the magic that lies just beyond our world.

Something was coming. Arlo felt certain about that.

For Arlo Finch and the Rangers of Pine Mountain Company, summer camp is more than canoeing and hiking. It's also a chance to search for ancient forest spirits and discover mysterious messages encoded in tree bark. But when Arlo and his best friends Indra and Wu stumble upon clues about the long-lost Yellow Patrol, Arlo uncovers a stunning history that leads right back to his very own family.

Awesome coed scouting magic.

Awesome coed scouting magic. I’m so happy our family found this story for our spring break drive and now our COVID weekend hikes in the nearby woods in county parks.

Good Clean Fun

Good clean fun, you scouts get involved with a mystic world. Reminds me of Harry Potter if the magical world was found in the woods rather than at a school.

Crazy & Wacky

Just as good as the first novel. Lots of mystery, strange happenings, and even stranger creatures. Loved the constant mystery and excitement that kept the book going at a fast pace. I finished it in two days, the story kept me hooked.

Not fit for children

Sad to see such an excellent book ruined by vulgarity. Unfit for children and young minds.

thrilling

Im 35 years old. I listened to this at bedtime and spooked myself several times. I love how much nature is involved in this series... and the narrators voice of Woo.

Wonderful Auditory Experience

The series is great and the second book took the story even further. Great work by the author and narrator. A fun read hands down.

Perfect in everyway

This is one of the finest books i've ever listened to. John August has created such an amazing, vibrant and entertaining world with his writing, complete with awesome characters like: Arlo, Woo, Indra, Uncle Wade, Merrily and some standout villians (can't give the names here as it would spoil it). Kudos to John August for being able to transition from screen writer to novelist. He's done a better job than many more famous authors.
The narrator James Cronin is also exceptional here. Really brings the character voices to life and you can tell he's really enjoying the story too. Utterly brilliant.
