I "Årets gang - Livets sang" beskriver Johannes Stræde i erindringsglimt livet på landet, som det formede sig frem til 1950‘erne. Johannes Stræde (1920-2018) var en dansk forfatter, højskoleforstander og grundtvigianer. I løbet af sit liv arbejdede han blandt andet som kommunalchef i den daværende Rosenholm Kommune på Djursland og som våbenmester. Johannes Stræde udgav et væld af bøger om billedkunst, lokalhistorie og kultur.
