L'opera, presentata per la prima volta al teatro Flaiano in Roma, nel dicembre 2005 con una nota e la direzione del poeta Mario Luzi, assunta forma di "drammaturgia per voce sola", e' arricchita dall' espressione lirica dell'endecasillabo. La vis polemica delle ragioni del soccombente, oltre la captatio benevolentiae, esprime contenuto - ineludibile nel testo greco- della rivendicazione dei giusti. La voce di Socrate prossimo alla fine, esalta nella mitezza i valori dello spirito, le idee che "vincono sulle cose", la verità sul sopruso, nella rivelazione del senso intimo dell'esistenza umana per cui "una vita senza ricerca non e' degna di essere vissuta".
