A 1969 Niagara University graduate, Joe Sheridan was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. He served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam as a Cobra Helicopter Gunship Pilot. With over 350 combat missions from September 1970 to September of 1971, he earned two Bronze Stars with “V” device (valor), 2 Air Medals with valor, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
