Angel Resendez, bekannt als der „Railway Killer", war ein gewalttätiger Serienmörder, der zwischen 1997 und 1999 mehrere Menschen in der Nähe von Bahngleisen brutal ermordete, darunter auch den Studenten Christopher Maier, während dessen Freundin schwer verletzt, aber überlebend zur einzigen Zeugin wurde. Nach Jahren der Flucht, zahlreichen Festnahmen unter falschen Identitäten und schließlich einem aufsehenerregenden Prozess wurde Resendez 2006 in Texas hingerichtet.
