Very enjoyable
One of the strongest Heresy Books I've listened to so far. It has some genuinely good payoffs towards the end as well as funny moments. Story lacked in some areas, but I enjoyed the fact there were no regular human characters, just marines and Primarchs.

A deep spiral into the madness of Fulgrim.
This book is fantastic start to finish. If you want to read a book that gives the spotlight to the Iron Warriors and Perturabo, read Angel Exterminatus. Starting with an epic slaughter of a battle between the Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists, introducing Fulgrim in his bizarre flagrancy and slowly showing his descent into Daemon Primarchood, the book takes many twists and turns that are not only enjoyable to read but make you appreciate the absolute cold and bitter bad*sses that the Iron Warriors and Perturabo are. Perturabo went from being a Primarch I knew nothing about to one that I absolutely adore, a tactical mastermind and renaissance man that simply wanted to construct awe inspiring and beautiful structures for the Emperor but forced to tackle the most mentally and physically demanding grindfests that the Imperium could send him too. He is a dreamer turned broken soldier that is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Amazing book, one of my favorites. Easily.

Awesome
One of the best of the series so far. Perturabo was a relative mystery to me, and he now seems like one of the more interesting Primarchs, especially among the Traitors. He is a complex character in an elegant plot, and the addition of regular (and excellent) action sequences make for some tense reading. Angel Exterminatus is longer than many (maybe most) of the H.H., and it flew by for me, not in small part to David Timson's great narration.

One of the best books I ever read
I was worried about this because it is mainly from the villain's perspective and Warhammer villains can be the most devious bastards there are. Luckily, the main character, Perturabo, is compelling as well as sympathetic. He is like if Ares was secretly an artisan, but got stuck with the role of God of War. David Timson's narration is fantastic and he brings each character to life. All the characters themselves are amazing and I was actually rooting for the Iron Warriors by the end of it. I cared about these bastards and I wanted them to succeed. Character arcs are completed and by the end I felt satisfied. Get this.

misunderstood genius,
Ill start by saying, incredible narration throughout the novel, all accents and characters are beutifully acted and were a pleasure on the ears. For the characters, Perturabo a primarch i never really cared for especially, after hearing so many opinions how hes a coward and forgettable character in other stories turned out to be completely well written and empathetic too, I don't think i've ever liked a primarch as much as i have Perturabo after listening to this tale. his personal relationship between his brother Fulgrim and father big E are incredible and insightful and really add suspense to the story, very much caused by that one Fulgrim scene (no spoilers). the overall story however starts a little slow and the iron hands side of the story is a little boring but it does have a few interesting characters. conclusion. get this novel.

Easily my favorite Heresy novel.
This is a great book giving depth to Perturabo and the iron warriors. The emperors children and Fulgrim are presented well too. We are also introduced to a few characters which iron warriors fans will recognize. There are some fantastic loyalist characters too and some incredible battle scenes with some clever twists. The only bad point with this book is that it ends. Really well written and a great job from the narrator too. 5 stars isn’t sufficient..A must read for Heresy fans.
