Publisher's Summary

If you want to discover the captivating history of ancient Africa, then pay attention...

Africa is the continent where the first humans were born. They explored the vast land and produced the first tools. And although we migrated from that continent, we never completely abandoned it. From the beginning of time, humans lived and worked in Africa, leaving evidence of their existence in the sands of the Sahara Desert and the valleys of the great rivers, such as the Nile and the Niger. Some of the earliest great civilizations were born there, and they give us an insight into the smaller kingdoms of ancient Africa.

As the home of the many pharaohs, Queen Sheba, Hannibal Barca, and Mansa Musa, Africa deserves our full attention. It has stories to tell us and cultural riches to share with us. Africa is where paganism, Christianity, and Islam left their trails and created a cultural fusion that is unique to the continent.

Some modern countries are popular tourist destinations, while others are war-torn lands still unable to industrialize. This polarity of Africa can be traced to ancient times, and the world-shaping events that occurred here need to be studied and understood.

In Ancient Africa: A Captivating Guide to Ancient African Civilizations, Such as the Kingdom of Kush, the Land of Punt, Carthage, the Kingdom of Aksum, and the Mali Empire with Its Timbuktu, you will discover chapters such as:

  • The Kingdom of Kush
  • The Land of Punt
  • Carthage
  • The Kingdom of Aksum
  • The Ghana Empire
  • The Mali Empire
  • And much, much more!

Increase your boundaries!!!

It is so vital for everyone to see as the results most of us have from our history books do not tell the real story of the history of Africa's Great Civilizations. The audio was delivered as scheduled and was well protected during mailing.

A Captivating Guide

This is an excellent start to the broad scope of African history and tells one that this is a continent that contains/contained many cultures. I will also look at the different Great Courses to find something beyond Egypt.

A good source for understanding a history

Well worth the purchase price for anyone involved in developing their knowledge about a continent whose history has been largely directed by a European perspective.

EXCELLENT!

Captivating History does it again!!! This is a unique series highlighting cultures we do not learn about in history classes because they teach us about extraordinary cultures that pre-date white Christianity.

This man is a national treasure!

For one who thinks this a Man-made story, my opinion to you is travel. Travel to see and experience these beautiful places yourself, not only in Africa, all over the World. There's a lot they don't teach in the school syllabus.

Extremely Helpful

This audiobook was eye-opening. The historical evidence and analysis convincingly showed that ancient Egypt has black origins. The writer addresses the extent to which this history has been manipulated and whitewashed by western historians and archaeologists. His tone comes across as angry at times but his facts and analyses are excellent. Anyone engaged in black/African history should follow this book.

Highly recommended

This audiobook is full of data and facts exposing the whitewashing of the origins of Carthage, Egypt, etc. Every person of African descent should read this book. African history needs to be claimed back and told from the perspective of the Africans. It is a classic work without a doubt

Fantastic Historical Documentary!

It's a fresh, vibrant history this series offers: the world told beginning at the origin of mankind which wouldn't exist if it weren't for one woman whose DNA is in every human today.
