Publisher's Summary

Falling in love is easy....

New Hope, South Carolina is my home. It’s where I grew up, got into trouble, and fell in love for the first time. Scarlett Kincaid was more than the girl next door, she was my best friend, until she decided that small town life wasn’t for her.

The girl I used to fish with down at the creek is now the biggest name in country music, and I haven’t seen her since she left. Until today when she sped through town in her fancy car. One look at her big brown eyes was all it took to stir up a whole slew of emotions. Emotions I’d long ago buried and sure as hell don’t have time for.

It’s the aftermath that’s hard....

There are two things in my life that matter: My music and my dad. Twelve years ago, I packed a bag and chased my dream. I never planned to return home, but my father needs me, and he always comes first. So, I cut my tour short and came home, despite having a sister who hates me, and a community that doesn’t trust me. And then there’s Tucker Andrews.

When he propped an arm on the roof of my car, pulled down his sunglasses, and flashed his police badge, I nearly swallowed my tongue. Gone is the lanky boy who used to throw rocks at me and pull my pigtails. Tucker is now a six-foot package of brawny, sexy man wrapped in more muscle than I have hit singles. Did I mention he’s a cop and a single dad?

My goal was to help Dad, and get back to my life. But what am I supposed to do when the life that used to strangle me suddenly fits like a glove, and makes me dream of things I never thought I’d have? I don’t have room for a man much less love.

Right?

Because it’s impossible to hold onto someone who’s already gone.

Weak story, excellent narration and an oops by the editors

So this is kind of weird for me. Let me start by saying I am a huge Kristen Proby fan. However...this book was a miss for me. The story was kind of blah. Uneventful. It was pleasant in some ways but I just kept waiting for something to happen. I had one more hour in the book when I gave up to write this review and listen to something else. Scarlet was a good heroine. Think Carrie Underwood with dark hair. I really liked her. Tucker had his good points. He’s a good dad and he seems like a good guy...however, he’s also a self-absorbed, whiny baby who wants Scarlet to give up her career and put him and his (adorable and sweet) tween daughter first. And this is after only a few months of being together!! Are you kidding me with this?! C’mon man! The narrators were great! They’re the reason I was able to stick this out for as long as I did. I’ll definitely be seeking their work out in the future! And one more thing...Chloe (the tween daughter) was given up at birth by her mother who wanted nothing to do with her so why did she spend the weekend with her midway through the book?? Editors? Any comment on this?? Like I said, KP is a terrific author. I will continue to read her books. But this series will be a no for me.

SO Good!

this book is so good! Kristen and K.L are a dream team when it comes to light and easy romance with the best narrators! I loved these characters and the story line. It is so real to life and not over the top dramatic. the flow is perfect and I totally loved Chloe!

Coming Home

I really enjoyed this story. A story where Scarlett Kincaid learns what she really left behind when she left 12 years prior. She has the ability to put her family back together and mend the friendship she torn apart when she left.

Already Gone

I absolutely loved Already Gone's story (I had previously read the book), and the audio just makes it that much better! Lee Samuels and Kirsten Leigh did a phenomenal job of bringing Tucker and Scarlett to life!

Chloe’s Mom

All throughout the book it talks about Chloe’s Mom not being part of her life. Yet in Chapter 14 it states that she’s spending the weekend with her Mom. I am confused with this twist.

Cute romance between a country star and her former friend/sheriff

New series located in the fictional small town of New Hope, South Carolina. Minor drama while they work out how to manage their very different lifestyles and careers. Tucker is fairly quick to forgive and Scarlet is both self absorbed her career and generous with all but her time when it comes to friends and family. Both main characters compromise in the end though the solution seemed pretty evident from the start. This was a fast read with decent narration. It would make a goof candidate for the Escape Package.

Great listen

OMG this is such a good book. I could not put it down. I had to make myself stop to go to bed and then I finished at work. It is so good. I love Scarlet and Tucker and Chloe is an added bonus. Kristen Proby and K L Grayson wrote a brilliant book. I can’t wait for anything else from these two wonderful writers.
