Publisher's Summary

The Covenant mission is the most ambitious endeavor in the history of Weyland-Yutani. A ship bound for Origae-6, carrying 2,000 colonists beyond the limits of known space, this is a make-or-break investment for the corporation - and for the future of all mankind.

Yet there are those who would die to stop the mission. As the colony ship hovers in Earth orbit, several violent events reveal a deadly conspiracy to sabotage the launch. While Captain Jacob Branson and his wife, Daniels, complete their preparations, security chief Daniel Lope recruits the final key member of his team. Together they seek to stop the perpetrators before the ship and its passengers can be destroyed.

An original novel by the acclaimed Alan Dean Foster, author of the groundbreaking Alien novelization Alien: Covenant Origins, is the official chronicle of the events that led up to Alien: Covenant. It also reveals the world the colonists left behind.

Yeah baby!

Hmmm..... A fanatical organisation with unlimited resources goes up against the human race, exploding goats and chickens, people hiding inside horses... Just one question; did this all happen before, after or during the time Austin Powers lost his mojo?

Good, if a little short

Easy listen. Seemed a little closer to a short story, with little real movement... the nature of a prequel i guess

Boring and constrained

The Aliens Saga is one of the most frustrating in science fiction. there is so much potential depth that seems to constantly be undermined by, ironically, corporate interests, that insist on diluting or constraining a story to fit in with overall company objectives. Here we have a great writer, with a great universe backstory to work with, hobbled by the Covenant movie to the point of there literally not being any Aliens or discussion thereof in this novel. The Gieger-like artwork on the front cover has no relationship to any aspect of the story. So instead we get left with a cutting room floor William Gibson esque Cyberpunk setting tacked with a most boring story that actually doesn't present or resolve any mystery. So once again, as happens with almost every other 'Aliens franchise', the primary objective is to preserve the corporate property interest for the next project.

Was ok

I found parts of this hard to get through but I think it’s worth it if you are an "Alien" fan

Dull, unnecessary and not what I wanted

The backstory to the universe is interesting info, but could have been a 1 chapter prologue at the start of the covenant book and achieved the same context.

Out there be demons...

Interesting concept ...knowing the Alien Horror Series in books and Movies , to hear a story of a man (called a Prophet) who dreams about Earth's annihaliation if the Demons out there are brought back...

stop and start

a good background story, but hard to hold interest. found myself tuning out occasionally. Lacking aliens altogether. a bit misleading there. well performed, but too slow for me.
