Good book version of movie

How could the performance have been better?

Hahahah, the narrator needs to stop trying to do female voices, especially when the female is "shouting"... I honestly laughed out loud every single time he did a shouting female voice.... at least it was entertaining (although not in the good way haha)>
Otherwise, his narration was good.

Generally good, but oh my,

The novelization of the film is pretty good, overall. At times, the writing is a little clunky and predictable, but it maintains suspense and keeps a decent pace.

The performance is also generally really good, but is seriously let down by every instance in which the narrator tries to emulate shouting or yelling, particularly by female characters. He adopts a weak falsetto that is incredibly grating and really shatters suspension of disbelief while interrupting the narrative. It honestly made it difficult for me to finish listening.

Aside from that, not bad.

This book is the Prometheus movie

This book appears to be the exact plot of the Prometheus movie. That’s fine but I think it should be made clear in the description.
Personally I have no interest in repeating the same story in different media.

Predictable

It was obvious how this was going to end. The high pitched female voices were very annoying. I’m an old school Ripley fan. I’m done with aliens.

good story but the overly exaggerated high pitch

overly exaggerated fake screaming of the females was intolerable, and sometimes the males voices also sounded the same when screaming

Excellent

An awesome story, I have not read any of the others in this series to date. Will look forward to reading them soon. Enjoy characters and narration.

Great story, but the delivery was a bit bland

It was a really good story and the narrator has a really good voice, but the delivery was a bit flat. It was read rather than acted. E.g. the pace and tone was the same whether he was describing how the cargo lift worked or describing an alien eating someone’s face. It needed a bit more emotion maybe.

Great series

The story was great and the narrator good, his interpretation of a female voice was a bit off but didn't ruin the story at all

Great narration and fast-paced story

This was one of the better Alien books I’ve listened to. I thought the narration was skilled and the story was suspenseful, which is what you want in this kind of book. I admit that I skipped through the sections with gory details. In particular I enjoyed the interactions between Walter and David. And it’s always great to have a strong female protagonist.
