Publisher's Summary

Premonitions of death. Murder in a small town. A killer is on the loose, and the coven fears it might be one of their own.

The Grimes sisters aren’t normal — even by witches’ standards. For weeks, Fiona has been having chilling visions of death, and Eleanor sees restless spirits nearly everywhere she goes. It doesn’t help that Mountain Shadow is a strange place to begin with, where rumors of curses fly as fast as salt-water taffy on a warm summer day.

When a string of gruesome murders rocks the small town, Fiona and the rest of her coven begin to worry that a fellow witch may be the killer. Even worse? A witch hunter has just moved in next door, and he suspects the coven.

When it seems that Eleanor might be the next victim, it will take an unlikely alliance and all the witches’ combined powers to stop the killer before it’s too late.

Aether Witch is Charmed meets Gilmore Girls. If you love a dark supernatural mystery with witty banter and unforgettable small-town characters, this book is for you!

New genre for me and I loved it

I love Tarah's apoc/ dystopian books and follow her on social media. I took a chance on Aether Witch because I like her writing style and the detail with which she writes the characters. I have to admit that I came into the book thinking that it might be too 'infantile' just because of the genre, but it was far from that and I have enjoyed the story: a fast paced murder mystery, with a magical twist into paranormal worlds. I look forward to listening to Book 2.

The narration really is superb, Taylor does a fantastic British accent, not something that is particularly easy to pull off (as I have seen with other narrators).

A Good Ol' Murder Mystery with Spooky Witches!

I don't usually find myself delving into a book about witches, but after listening to the entirety of this one, I have to say that I enjoyed it! There's a lot of potential for a series here, and there were definitely several turns in this particular story that I didn't see coming!

I think if any person is considering listening to this book, they should just give it a go! The narration is well done, and all of the characters are pretty memorable. I'm curious to see what other aspects of magic and supernatural myths that the author will pull from in Fiona's next adventure! If I could put MY two cents in...bring back Smudge and give that cat a good cut of action :)

Engaging story

I appreciated the complex story line that kept me guessing. Usually books in this genre can be predictable. The Narrator did an excellent job of voicing the different characters, bringing their individual personalities to life.

A Relaxing and Sometimes Hilarious Weekend Listen

If you liked watching Charmed, this book is a great choice. The story and characters are completely different, but the addictive flow of the story and setting were spot on for me.

The pros: (1) The author often worked in humorous asides or jokes that kept me smiling. I really enjoyed the "Homicides and Apple Pies" chapter. (2) The story had a manageable cast of characters with distinct personalities so it was easy to remember each character as they popped in and out during the story. (3) The book had the right amount world building, action, and character development that made me want to listen even though I should be focusing on something else ><

Con: The book does not really have a unique take on witch tropes, but strengths of the book are the story, characters, and humor.

The narrator also did a good job of using distinct voices between characters.

Not for me

I gave this book a chance but it didn't appeal to me. I didn't finish it.
