Welcome to Myrtlewood, a quirky town steeped in magic, tea, and mystery…

Life's a struggle for Rosemary Thorn and her teen daughter, Athena. But their regular troubles are turned upside down after Granny Thorn's mysterious death.

Despite her cousin's sinister maneuverings, Rosemary returns to Myrtlewood and the sprawling, dilapidated Thorn Manor. There's more to the old house than meets the eye, as Rosemary and Athena soon find out—in a whirlwind of magic, adventure, mystical creatures, and endless cups of tea.

Life in Myrtlewood would be bliss if Rosemary could only clear her name in a certain murder investigation, solve the mystery and stay out of mortal peril—for at least a little while!

A small town with endless secrets, strange activities, and a house with a mind of its own.

Quite a good story, liked it, voice acting can be difficult but a good listen anyway, I would recommend more as a read, audio is ok

Great work Iris! Thoroughly enjoyable story with interesting characters, will definitely continue with the series. The narration was a little painful at first, but persevered as I did want to finish the book. That being said, I'll continue with the series in print format, as I found the plot refreshing.

Excellent storyline

EDIT: Now i've finished book 1 I do think this book is worth listening but I recommend listening to the majority of the book at 1.5x
The main character Rosemary is pretty endearing though her memory loss is a bit annoying at times. The daughter Athena though, she is likeable in some ways but she is constantly putting her mother down to the point it gets to feel a bit abusive and spoils it a bit for me. Thankfully this negativity does settle down near the end. Right at the end of the actual book we get a bonus perspective from the lawer, this is one of my fav parts of the book, its quite endearing.

As far as the narration, as long as you speed it up, its pretty decent though i do vary the speed depending on the section and interest.

Give it a go But...

Loved the mystery and the portrayal of a mid-life woman trying to find her true self and navigate single motherhood.

Great mystery with comic mum and teenage daughter banter
