Publisher's Summary

The explosive sequel to the Greig Beck blockbuster Fathomless

Cate Granger is chasing ghosts.

The monster shark she once encountered was a remnant of the ancient world - one that had escaped an underwater lair previously sealed off for millions of years. At great cost, Cate and her allies had killed the beast. So, no more ghosts, no more shadows. All gone.

Or so Cate thought.

A research ship is sound-blasting the deep seabed looking for petroleum signatures. But in doing so they disturb something that has been hiding in the trenches for countless millennia.

What Cate thought was dead rises from the cold depths of hell. She, Jack Monroe, a Russian billionaire, and her team of marine biologists are forced once more to enter the abyssal zone of the deepest ocean trenches, to confront a creature from the Earth’s distant past.

As fast paced as the first. Love shark books. Terrifying and exciting. Have been known to drive around longer then needed to keep listening.

Similar to first, Aboriginal culture is Not ‘primitive’

Overall I enjoyed, albeit not as much as first but still comparable and pronunciation was better than first book, however as someone who was privileged to grow up spending time with an Indigenous Aboriginal Elder including Dreaming Camps on country, despite being 1st generation Australian, I was offended that the oldest living continuous culture that in many ways is far more advanced than much of the new ‘modern’ culture was referred to as ‘primitive’, we could improve our safety and health and embracing of diversity by allowing that older knowledge to guide our young modern societies.

I always love the adventure stories !

I love listening to Sean read he’s fabulous a really entertaining narrator. The stories are fun and a break from our real world we all live in, it’s total escapism for me. Sometimes with these stories there could be enough fact in it to wonder, a clever author I’ve listened to many of his books. Thanks!

As good Reilly!

Just as scary as the 1st book Fathomless and as much action and suspense as Matthew Reilly! I love the combination of fact and fiction and the thought that a shark from our primordial past may be out there waiting to devour us scares the pants off me!. A great cast of characters who each leave a bit of themselves embedded in our brains! I hope there is a 3rd instalment as I would love Sonya to get revenge for her beloved Valery. I would love a book totally devoted to her, she was my absolute favourite! Keep up the good work Grieg!
