I absolutely adored this book, the narrators were perfect and the story line was so entertaining. Very pirates meets throne of glass for me. Such a fun book, please record the next ones! <3

This plot had potential, but the writing was immature. Everything happened very fast without any world building, so often I had no idea what was going on, and I found it difficult to care about the world or the characters.
The writing was also haphazard - the character’s feeling one thing in one line, and then in the next had adopted an entirely opposite opinion without any internal dialogue to explain their decision making - and this happened many times with the plot as well.
I feel that this book could be rewritten beautifully when the author matures in their writing, because the magic system and the plot had good structure.

Really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to book 2. While the FMC is subjected to an emotional roller coaster it kept me hooked all the way through.

The story started off well enough until the coercive sexual content that was practically a rape scene. Up until that point there wasn’t enough of a valid storyline to keep that event relevant or make me want to continue.

This book should have a more obvious trigger warning for coercive content.
