About this listen
What makes an Ice Queen?
Neve Blackthorne, head of one of the most successful Studios in Hollywood, is the one to rule them all. Powerful, beautiful, and aloof, she's ruthless, yet irresistible. Above all, she has an unquenchable survival instinct.
Surely a fleeting entanglement with one Audrey Avens, a bright, young, rising star in her company, won't bring down the Wicked Queen of Tinseltown. Or will it?
Neve's public persona has no chink in the untouchable armor, but when the lights go out and the cameras stop rolling, what becomes of an Ice Queen whose heart is ruled by love and fear?
Contains mature themes.

Also, the ice queen trope is my kryptonite!
MCs were interesting and I was invested in them and their story. Story was told from a single perspective, which I don't usually like, BUT it was actually told from the ice queens perspective, which I found unique and intriguing!
Just superb

Did the writer play off the lack of communication trope this whole time? Yes! Oh how infuriating it was to listen to the main character’s self flagellation about all her feelings but not act on literally just opening her mouth and COMMUNICATING with her love interest. The back and forth with the main character short of roundhouse kicking her love interest and setting her “free” was seriously tiresome I wanted to kill her by the end of it. I understand the writer had to go through the motions of character development or else the story would have fallen short but my stars it took for ages for her to open up and try to face her childhood trauma. In my opinion, the pace was too slow for the realisation. To add to that, I don’t think I ever want to listen to another book with the ice queen’s perspective again because it was too painfully beseeching when all she had to do was say the truth.
I wanna strangle Neve Blackthorne
