About this listen

Kris Milnes's uplifting performance of a story that has captured the hearts of the nation will bring you a new level of appreciation and empathy for author James and his faithful furry companion.

The phenomenal number one best seller about best friends James and Bob. Now a major motion picture starring Luke Treadaway.

Shortlisted for: Popular Non-Fiction Book of the Year - Specsavers National Book Awards 2012

When James Bowen found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet. Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas. Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts. A Street Cat Named Bob is a moving and uplifting story that will touch the heart of anyone who hears it.

what a lovely outcome for two characters stranded, each in their own little puddle of dejection... until they meet up.

I watched the movie on a flight, it was brilliant so I thought I would get the audio book. It is brilliant I love true stories and this is a great book and a good movie please watch the movie first. I feel that the movie can't do with an hour thirty what the book can do with 10+ hours but if you love cats your in for a treat with either or both of these good if different stories.

loved the story. watch the Movie first.

This was a delightful, charming yet thought provoking book. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the bond that developed between James and Bob. It also gave me some insight into the harsh realities of what life on the streets must be like for those more unfortunate than ourselves. An enjoyable book, not just for cat lovers.

Delightful

An inspirational and heart warming story. A beautifully narrated book that made me laugh and cry even when I was sitting on the bus and in the middle of the city in front of crowds. This is my first audio book and I just loved it and can't wait to listen to more. I saw the movie A Street Cat Named Bob and tears welled all throughout and it was no different with this book.

How can one cat, whom you've never met, from the other side of the world, inspire and delight, warm the cockles of your heart and make you sob like he was your own? A must read for cat lovers. 5 stars

There's a little bit of James in all of us and well, simply put, we all need a Bob in our life.
