Critic Reviews

All hail the queen of scream. A Sliver of Darkness is C.J. Tudor at her spine-tingling, nightmare-inducing best. Read it if you dare...
This unsettling collection of stories from a writer often called the 'British Stephen King' deftly inverts the banal and unremarkable to reveal their underlying horror
Beautifully barbaric, creepy as hell and crammed with barbed wit, Tudor can say more in one short story than many writers can manage in a full length novel
Brilliantly creepy and perfectly executed
A decadent and phantasmagorical descent into the dark chasm where I first fell in love with horror fiction. Told with real heart along with daemonic savagery, these are stories to luxuriate with in the tenebrous
Chilling

A good mix of stories, not all winners. Some are let down by the narrator, others by trying to cram too much into the short format.

It's clear that a lot of these were written or conceived during COVID for sure.

I'm Not Ted, Dust and The Block are standouts. Gloria is great if you've read other CJ Tudor works as it fits nicely between two if them. Lion at the Gates is great too, plus I'd listen to Richard Armitage read a phonebook.

Well worth the Audible Credit.

A good mix

I highly suggest this if you’re a fan of Stephen King or Tudors other works, in my opinion this is her BEST WORK.
