Publisher's Summary

Lonesome Lily Turned Scandalous Siren

Miss Lillian Harwood has lived much of her life alone in a gilded cage, longing for love and companionship. When an artist offers her pretty promises and begs her to pose for a scandalous portrait, Lily doesn't hesitate...until the lying libertine leaves her in disgrace. With the painting now public, Lily has no choice but to turn to the one man who might save her from ruin.

Highland Devil Turned Halfhearted Duke

The duke of Warnick loathes all things English, none more so than the aristocracy. It does not matter that the imposing Scotsman has inherited one of the most venerable dukedoms in Britain - he wants nothing to do with it, especially when he discovers that the unwanted title comes with a troublesome ward, one who is far too old and far too beautiful to be his problem.

Tartan Comes to Town

Warnick arrives in London with a single goal: get the chit married and see her become someone else's problem, then return to a normal, quiet life in Scotland. It's the perfect plan until Lily declares she'll marry only for love...and the Scot finds that there is one thing in England he likes far too much.

Love interest too bad to enjoy

I wish the author had completely rewritten the female love interest - all she does in every scene is whine about how hard her life is despite not doing or allowing anyone to do anything for her. Worse then some teenage girls I know

Don’t really like this narrator

The story was ok, not as good as her other ones and the narrator didn’t help it. All these stories would be much better if Kate Reading, Rosalyn Landor or Davina Porter narrated them.

Enjoyed Overall

I enjoyed this book overall. It missed a bit of the potential in the end, but I won't give spoilers.
I felt it was a little repetitive at times in outlining why the main male character could not commit.
Good sexual chemistry and sex scenes.
Good narration.
4/5

Excellent!! I want Alec!!!

Where does A Scot in the Dark rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best. What a good tale...held my interest totally and also made me laugh. Characters were great.

What did you like best about this story?

The two main characters were quite funny...good to have a smile and a laugh.

Have you listened to any of Justine Eyre’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Yes I have. She is always good. This could be one of her best. I do enjoy her characterisation, and her Scottish accent is pretty good which makes Alec funnier (and sexier). She is excellent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!

Any additional comments?

Just fabulous...where is Book 3? 😳
