About this listen

The King is dead. Long live the King. And death to his enemies.

Bargained away to Dawn Court, Kat must play the part of a helpless human bewitched by the Day King. But beneath the veneer of submission, she's playing a far more dangerous game—spying for Dusk Court, and for the one person who holds her heart: Bastian.

Separated from the woman he loves, Bastian has no time to rage against fate—or his queen. With his city on the brink of collapse and war brewing, he must uncover the truth before a devastating betrayal shatters everything he's fought to protect.

As the enemy's hold on Kat tightens, secrets from the past threaten to unravel the courts' fragile alliance. Every step brings the couple closer to a deadly choice: risk everything for love—or lose it all to the lies that bind them.

With danger, desire, and dark secrets, A Promise of Lies is the epic conclusion to Shadows of the Tenebris Court, an addictive romantasy trilogy ideal for fans of morally grey shadow daddies and heroines who refuse to give up—even when death seems set to win.

The male narrator is awful and completely ruined the listening experience. Female narrator was very good. The story itself felt like there were too many ideas in one book and ended feeling underwhelming.

Rushed conclusion to an otherwise interesting trilogy.

The male narrator is woeful, he reads with the same pattern continually and his voice goes up at the end of each sentence without fail. After three hours of his narration I started reading Bastians chapters because I couldn’t stand to listen to his ‘da da da-A’ anymore.
Kat’s narrator is excellent and so is the story.

Great story let down by one of the narrators.

Liam Price is SO BAD as Bastian! Im sorry, but his excessive need to finish every sentence with the inflection and pitch of a newsreader/documentary host-AI hybrid drove me insane across the whole trilogy. I really wish the Bastian chapters were re-recorded or at least provided free in PDF so we can even get some Al text-to-speech program to listen with! No shade to Liam Price, personally at all, but someone did not do any quality control on the Bastian chapters and its gave a really poor overall quality to the productions.

Great story, terrible male voice actor

Have stuck with this serious as I'm enjoying the story but the male narrator is painful, every sentence sounds like he's making an announcement at a train station, it's getting worse the longer I listen!! Sadly I think I'll be abandoning this book series when I finish this book as I can't cope listening to him any more, it's some of the worst narration I've ever heard!! It's monotone and so irritating!

Enjoying the story but the narration is painful

wonderful story, great female narrator, awful male narrator. Found out they're married IRL so maybe it was a 2 for 1 deal. Ruined the audiobook. Better off reading it.

Male narrator ruined it
