90% content is about house cleaning, only 10% about mind

As a german housewife, I find the daily cleaning tips like feather duster and backing soda not what I‘m looking for in this book, but about cleaning the mind there is not so much new ideas. „Dust of the mind should be also removed“ is all what is said. Deeply dessapointed.

Inspirational without the cringe

Best narration of a book so far. Incredibly detailed but with a lot that you can apply without having the life of a Buddhist monk.

I like how it ties observations about buddhism with the suggestions on how to clean. It opened up my mind to a different way of approaching everyday tasks. Peaceful and encouraging read.

A good book.

This book seem like a good entrypoint to a calm mind. it unfortunately ends abruptly. The narrator was excellent.

Robotic voice; finished abruptly without any conclusion, please fix

This is peaceful and relaxing book with good advice. However as I have already mentioned in the headline, the reading voice is robotic and so not very pleasant. The last chapter just stops unexpectedly.

Short and cut out before the end

I would not recommend this book. It was very short and the end of the book on audible came in the middle of a description of a breathing exercise. I would say this book could be useful for a monk learning how to look after a temple, but it really didn’t offer much for a normal householder like me.

Monks life

Very interesting encounter on daily cleaning which takes place in Buddhist temples. It's short but contains lots of informations. I will definitevly listen to it again on slower speed and make some notes this time and research what exactly are all these tools he's been talking about. Especially I'm interested in the essential oil used as insect repellent in wardrobes as it might be nice change for traditional lavender used in eastern Europe.

Healthy body, healthy mind, healthy soul.

A great book that reminds us the importance of taking care of the things we own and the place we live which ineffect gives a sound mind, body and soul.

utterly tedious, trivial and best avoided

i wouldn't bother if i were you. i desperately wanted to enjoy this book, didn't. stuffed full of empty platitudes dressed up as esoteric wisdom. utter shit

Good story, not so good narrative

The story was good. It made me calm down and gave me a chance to look around me again. However, I cannot give a credit to narrative. Yes, the voice helped me clam down and focus, but it was very hard listen unless I was on earbuds or headphone. If anyone who want to listen this book through a speaker, especially during driving, I do not recommend it.

Thought provoking

An intelligent and thoughtful insight into mindful living – from the methods behind cleaning a temple or your home to the clothes you should wear. The book is almost poetic at times and a relaxing listen.

Not what I'd hoped for

Beautifully read but not exactly what I hoped for. I was expecting more about cleaning as a form of meditation and taking pleasure in simple things. There was more culturally specific facts about the superiority of traditional Japanese tools and investing money in good quality Japanese handmade objects. There were a few tips - such as cleaning windows with newspaper and remembering to close kitchen cabinets. Things I knew already.
