Publisher's Summary

The first time somebody tried to kill him was an accident.

The second time was deliberate.

Now Paul Mulchrone finds himself on the run with nobody to turn to except a nurse who has read one-too-many crime novels and a renegade copper with a penchant for violence. Together they must solve one of the most notorious crimes in Irish history.

Or else they’ll be history.

A Man with One of Those Faces is the first book in Caimh McDonnell's critically acclaimed Dublin Trilogy series, which melds fast-paced action with a distinctly Irish acerbic wit.

Funny with fantastic narration

I really enjoyed this book set in Dublin and narrated by an incredibly talented voice actor. Hilarious in a blackly comic way and brought to life brilliantly by the narrator. Highly recommended

Brilliant fun

Love this author, great stories, excellent narration, not too serious & a well thought out story line. I actually laughed out loud at the burnt turd comment.

Hilarious and captivating

Just as funny and entertaining as The Stranger Times. Well read with distinctive character voices

Outstanding!

I love the Bunny series of books, and the narration really brings it to life. By turns, it’s funny, touching tense and violent. The characters are fully realised and very Irish. I love the sense of humour even in times of crisis and the twisting plot keeps you guessing to the end.

Great listen

I got hooked on this author after the Stranger Times series. I thoroughly enjoy the characters and have literally laughed out loud at times.

I really enjoy this authors humour.

Disappointing narration

I probably would have enjoyed this book if I’d read it, rather than listened to it, as it was well written, with clever and highly amusing witticisms. The narrator had so much potential to be brilliant and I was very impressed by his performance at the beginning but as more characters were introduced, he began to put on ridiculous and unlistenable voices that made the characters seem silly and over the top. I write this review simply to give a heads up that if you find yourself irritated by this aspect of the narration early on, and wonder if it will get better or easier to listen to, it doesn’t! I would suggest just backing out. I persevered but really wish I didn’t.

just the one, stop anytime i want

i promised myself not to get addicted to this series; cause the stranger times on Audible got me hooked on Caimhs writing & i have prepaid the 3rd in the series.

i was thinking they couldn't do it in a different style of storyline, my bad.
i am putting on this review after finishing book # 4.

Great book

This is my second listen this year. the howle series is very good. the Voice actor is up there with Ruppert Degas , and the characters are great in particular Bunny Bunny Mcgarry. I don,t usually submit reviews but this book and the series deserves a plug.

Great Story

Loved it. Just wished the recording levels were the same all the way through. it kept pulling me out if the story when chapter titles were obviously recorded at different times and at different levels. other than that BRILLIANT STORY!

Well read

Great characters from Dublin and surrounds. The landscape and city is described beautifully and the inhabitants of the story are all good, even the babies. For me the crowd watching the bomb disposal were the best. People l have met infact.
Highly recommended
