It was nice to revisit the characters from the other novels but I wasn’t as invested in the two leads this time.

Not my favourite Tessa Dare

Unfortunately I couldn’t get past chapter 3. The narration combined with the dialogue of the male main character was too much for me. He came across as pushy, slimy and a little aggressive. I love tessa dare and can highly recommend her other books.

The main characters are sulky and aggressive but this could be how it was narrated, love Tessa Dare books but find this narrator incredibly hard to listen to

Bella is insufferable, Toby is ridiculous and the humour of the Duke series is nowhere to be seen. Add to that the stilted dialogue and I will never listen to one of this series again. I should have read the reviews!

Maudlin and mawkish

I normally read reviews and normally read books in order, I didn’t realise this was a trilogy and was reading it first, nonetheless, it was a struggle, cringe worthy I didn’t not like this at all. Did not like the two main characters at all. I’m glad I read the last first if the previous ones were anything like this I won’t be reading them.
