Publisher's Summary

Winner of the Romantic Novelists' Association.

Contemporary Romantic Novel Award, 2015.

As heart wrenching and life-affirming as One Day or Me Before You, A Hundred Pieces of Me is a story about what it means to finally live life to the full.

Letters from the only man she's ever truly loved. A keepsake of the father she never really knew. A blue glass vase that catches the light on a grey day.

Gina Bellamy is starting again, after a few years she'd rather forget. But the belongings she's treasured for so long don't seem to fit who she is now. So Gina makes a resolution. She'll keep just a hundred special items - the rest can go. But that means coming to terms with her past and learning to embrace the future, whatever it might bring....

Tedious story, unpleasant narration

Would you try another book written by Lucy Dillon or narrated by Juanita McMahon?

Story was rather self-indulgent and self-pitying. The word tedious kept springing to mind. I understand the moral of the story was to overcome that but it took a long time to get there.
It was made worse by the narrator who kept ... pausing at inappropriate moments. She also pronounced every name as if it were in CAPITAL LETTERS.

Would you recommend A Hundred Pieces of Me to your friends? Why or why not?

if you have nothing else to listen to.

Was A Hundred Pieces of Me worth the listening time?

not really

Inspiring

Such an elegant journey through life. A well told story of real life as it is what we make it.

Really enjoyable and engaging

Great narrator, felt like it was her story. Character driven, but still felt like the story sabotages moving and evolving. Loved it

A thought provoking read

When I first read the "about this book" information for this novel it didn't appeal to me. Then through book reviews I discovered that it had characters in it from other Lucy Dillon books that I had enjoyed. The book reviews for it were also excellent. I'm so glad I chose to read this book. I loved it. There were at times a few tears. It made me think about life a little differently. The only bit I wasn't happy with was the ending. I really want to know Gina's outcome. I hope I find her somewhere else in another book.

Listened nonstop.

This was one of those books with the right amount of twists and turns to a gently told story, that was upsetting and uplifting at the same time . Loved it.

Decluttering and living in the moment.

This story is interesting and well written; the. characters are well delineated and totally believable.

Juanita McMahon's narration and performances are brilliant! She manages to create the different voices for the various characters perfectly.

I enjoyed this story, but, on a personal level, I found the references to cancer and funerals rather distressing.

The moral of this story is to live in the present and not to brood on past events, over which you have no control. Just live one day at a time.

This book would appeal mainly to women and to those who like romantic novels and dogs.

Nice story

I enjoyed this book, took me a while to get started, I struggled with the narrator, I felt the voice was too old for the main character. They didn’t match, if I wasn’t so interested in the story I probably would have given up. I was very engaged after the greyhound entered the story, having a rescue grey myself, I had to stay and see what the dog’s outcome was.

Really enjoyed it

What made the experience of listening to A Hundred Pieces of Me the most enjoyable?

My first audiobook ever. I really enjoyed everything about it, the narration, the story and the fact that I could follow it easily and remember the characters and how they all fitted together. I don't like books with a million complicated characters that are hard to recall.Highly recommended.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Hundred Pieces of Me?

The ending.

Which character – as performed by Juanita McMahon – was your favourite?

Buzz.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No as there were many such moments.
