Story
"I need to speak with The Grey Man," said Gregov and watched the effect it had on the elegant man in front of him." "I don't know who you are talking about," he blustered. "The man who runs your bloody secret service and has done since before my time. I have something he will want." "You are bluffing," said Sir Evelyn but did not call his dogs forward. "What do you have?" Gregov took a deep breath, "London is going to be destroyed by a weapon of mass destruction." "How do you know?" "Because," said Gregov. "I sold the weapon."

The man calling himself Charles Hellquist is planning to steal a ton of highly radioactive nuclear waste, the most toxic substance known to man. Against him stand three men - Commander Ben Warrington, Head of the MI6 special task force; Jacob Owen, a Field Agent on his way back from a failed mission, and David Stanley, a retired Sales Director and sometime spy who has a major problem with MI6.

Story
He tried to think how many men he had killed and could not remember. "How many do you need to kill before you lose count?" he wondered. Sir Stephen Mendal, head of MI6, looked up from the report. Apparently an unknown secret organization had been recruiting ex-MI6 agents, specifically those that specialized in "wet work", the nasty side of the business. One of these old employees had just been shot dead by the authorities whilst robbing a bank in Switzerland. He had to know more. What was this organization up to, and why employ such specialists? He decided he needed a spy.

Story
For the freedom fighters it was an incredible opportunity to strike deep into the core of the United Kingdom. No longer need they rely on soft targets, murdering ordinary men and women, to build fear and terror. Now they could attack at the heart of the British Government, killing Members of Parliament one by one until their demands were met. The planning had been extensive and years in the making. The highly trained team was already in England and a traitor, high up in the British Secret Service, was providing them with all the information they could possibly need. They could not fail.

Good💙
A Griffen, a Murder and a Mason is good book. The writer presented the story and characters vividly, creatively and generally cleverly.
Some not so clever instances were highly trained characters doing foolish things e g driving a vehicle with tracking on it, being obvious by bending down to do up shoelaces in order to place a camera, not being situationally aware at all times. otherwise a pretty good read
The tale ran along at a cracking pace and was perfect for enjoying in a single day.
Narration was excellent, Danny Elliot was a pleasure to listen to.
I received a free copy of this audible book and am voluntary leaving my review.
