Publisher's Summary
This collection contains five Christmas radio classics from The Great Gildersleeve: "McGee's Christmas Gifts" (December 21, 1941)
"Gildy's Christmas Woes" (December 20, 1942)
"Christmas Show" (December 19, 1951)
"Lost Presents" (December 26, 1951)
"Gildy and Hooker Feud at Christmas" (December 16, 1953)
The Great Gildersleeve was a popular radio spin-off, the eponymous character having first been introduced on the Fibber McGee and Molly show. Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve, with his booming voice, is comically vain and pompous, but also a dedicated family man with vulnerabilities that endeared him to radio audiences. Unlike many of its predecessors, The Great Gildersleeve is a true situation comedy, rather than a series of gags or brief sketches.
