Publisher's Summary

Whilst travelling, Eleanor Carruthers is forced by heavy snow to seek refuge at the home of notorious hell-raiser Charles Christian Hurst. Although seriously injured by an accident that also killed his wife, Hurst soon treats Eleanor to a sample of his rakish behaviour. She soon begins to see another side of him, but before their relationship can progress, Patricia Reynolds, one of Hurst's old flames, arrives.

When Eleanor learns that Hurst's disability may not be permanent, and that he was innocent of his wife's death, she longs to help him recover by telling him the truth. But will he turn to her, or will Miss Reynolds win him after all?

Classical & Charming

This story of Ann Barker's has all the characteristics of a classic regency tale. The end is a given, even at the beginning but the story is told in such a delightful manner that I found myself enjoying it nevertheless.I recommend this story for anyone who wants an uncomplicated plot with a few twists & turns to keep the reader interested; & a happy ending, which is refreshing in these days of complicated lifestyles.

Undemanding Romantic Tale

An enjoyable story, made special simply because Nicolette McKenzie is a wonderful narrator. I'd be happy to read more from Ann Barker, and will definitely be seeking more stories narrated by Mz McKenzie.
