About this listen

Angie, 6, and sister Polly, 4, are utterly distraught when they arrive to stay with foster carer Cathy Glass. Their older half-sister Ashleigh has accused their father of something horrible, and the two young sisters have been removed from home to keep them safe.

Cathy tries to comfort the girls, but they are inconsolable. They just want their mummy and daddy, whom they love dearly.

The girls appear to have been well looked after, but as they settle and start to talk of life at home, it becomes clear something is badly wrong. Then a chance remark sets in motion a chain of events that eventually changes everything.

I am a step father and my then 7 year old step daughter made some stuff up after my daughter was born. It got as far as the police before she told the truth and said she did it because she thought I didn’t love her any more as I had my own children l so this story got hard. I was so angry at first but I realised it was a cry for help from my step daughter and we are now closer than anything.

Felt like listening to a robot reading a journal. Too much Covid repetitive commentary. The facts were interesting enough and gave insight into fostering but very monotonous.

Reading a foster log

Normally love these type of book/author. This one did not hit the mark. All the explaining of Covid and policies and procedures was beyond boring. And the story didn’t develop into anything worth listening too. Kinda just felt like you walked in a circle with no real outcome or explanations. I feel bad leaving bad review as I normally like this author but give this one a pass sorry!
