About this listen

In a world where magic has disappeared, rival nations vie for power in a continent devastated by war.

When a young farm girl named Livia demonstrates magical powers for the first time in a century, there are many across the land that will kill to obtain her power. Duke Gothelm's tallymen, the blood-soaked Qeltine Brotherhood, and cynical mercenary Josten Cade: All are searching for Livia and the power she wields.

But Livia finds that guardians can come from the most unlikely places...and that the old gods are returning to a world they abandoned.

Not a bad story at all,
I was interested to the end. Writing is clean and uncluttered. Gets a teensy bit florid here and there, but generally a fast paced guessing game as to WTH is going on here. Will give next in series a listen.

Dimensional timeline scramble - epic vision.

it was ok, some aspects were good but nothing special overall. interesting enough storyline but some parts poor executed both in writing and plot. Will probably read next in series though.

One of the best written and narrated books I've ever read/heard. very solid storyline can't wait for the next

Incredible

I didn’t think I would enjoy this book but I found that I couldn’t put it down. It is violent and crude but then so is war and the men who have to fight. There are moments of real tenderness and of cruelty all to be expected with cruel gods/demons. I’m now looking forward to the next in the series.

A cruel tapestry of a time passed in fantasy tales.

not a fan of this one. too disjointed and hard to follow with the swapping time lines, historical quotes etx

The narration was very well done

If you like to be challenged to anticipate a plot, you’ll love this. No spoon feeding with this one. No tedious descriptions. Well thought out. Well written. And wonderfully performed. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Clever. Clever. Clever.

I started to get into this but just as i did it changed to another storyline. was hard to keep the lines seperate as they crossed.

Narrator does a great job and enjoyable to listen to.

Just feel the story editor let this down.

Great potential but erratic storyline with excessive number of character

Started out well but became more and more violent, abusive and full of foul language. Then it moved onto torture. I couldn’t last long enough to find out how the different aspects came together.

Too harsh for me, although well written
