About this listen

Sarah J. Maas' sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Absolutely love this book. Sarah j Maas has done it again. However the I really struggled to listen to the narration.

Great story however not a fan of the narrator

Voice was a little too dramatic for me. Book was great - like Nesta a bit more than before.

I really enjoyed this book.

SJM is writing in a more succinct manner. The sex scenes are definitely detailed...

If you love SJM, you will really enjoy this book.

Surprising, sad, hot, disturbing, heartwarming, wrong, cute, fun. I love how Sarah develops the small side lines along the main story and this book did not disappoint.

Nesta's development is all strong, depressing, surprising and most of all human. It was lovely to see her other side and her point of view as the "evil sister". I thoroughly enjoyed Cassian, his cheekiness and character is great fun.

It was refreshing to have Fayre and Rhys in the background, however it was odd how this always strong couple presented itself as meek.

The only week point for me however was the excessive amount of sex and especially the language. Sometimes I had a feeling that Nesta could turn into a porn star and it just overwhelmed the main story/stories and all I could think of were someone's genitals. :D

This story isn't exactly in line with the other ACO series books but that doesn't mean this book isn't phenomenal. You can tell the writing is different and its with purpose. Nesta isn't trying to save the world. Shes trying to survive, day by day.
The clarity and depths in which SJM has written Nestas story is so relatable and palpable that this makes this some of, if not, her best writing so far. The way she portrays mental illness and breaks it down and describes the journey of healing makes it so that people that haven't experienced it can understand and those that have, can relate to it on a deep and profound level.

The story and its progression is beautifully captured. The characters are powerful and relatable. The narrator nailed the performance in every way. I cannot speak highly enough of this book and the narrators performance.

I really enjoyed this story even though it had so much graphic porn throughout the reading.
I wasn't sure about Nesta at the start of the story, but I love how the author demonstrates how passionate Nester is and lives. Nester story is told well.

Great story, a lot of graphic porn scenes though
