About this listen

Newly recorded for the 10th anniversary of A Court of Thorns and Roses

The 10th anniversary edition recording of the first book in the #1 bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series from global phenomenon Sarah J. Maas, who handpicked narrator and friend Elizabeth Evans to bring these characters to life due to her intimate understanding of Sarah’s storytelling

Global phenomenon Sarah J. Maas’s sexy, richly imagined #1 bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series continues with the journey of Feyre’s fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance—and healing—in each other’s arms.

I loved A Court of Silver Flames! Getting the story from Nestor’s POV was such a powerful shift. Her character growth was raw, emotional, and so satisfying. I found myself genuinely happy for her by the end. This book is about healing, strength, and self-acceptance, and it quickly became one of my favorites in the series.

Character Growth - Tick :)

Finished a second read of the ACOTAR series and loved every second of it. Beautifully read by Eliazbeth Evans - an absolute queen!

Amazing

Loved the narrative told in 3rd person instead of 1st person in previous books, a bit easier to follow. Nesta is surprisingly relatable for someone framed as being very unlikable, at least from Faera's (sp?) perspective in earlier books.
Disliked the sloppy repetition of words or phrases, e.g. "step to step to step." It felt laboured and didn't add value to the writing at all. It was particularly irritating as the narrator would say it the same way each time, in an overly dramatic way.
Overall, a bit predictable in parts (won't give away spoilers), but I felt Nesta's character arc was more rewarding than Faera's.

Nesta, the anti hero we didn't know we needed

I’ve been enjoying the storyline of this series but disappointed that each book dropped to more and more explicit sex scenes. Wouldn’t recommend.

Too much smut

The narration of this book was so bad. The cadence, pitch and over dramatisation was way too much. Who approved this version? Extremely disappointing.

The narration was absolutely terrible
