Publisher's Summary

Esme Posorsky is an enigma. For as long as people can remember, she has been part of community life in the quaint Cornish fishing village of Tremarnock, but does anyone really know her? She is usually to be found working in her pottery studio or at home with her beloved cat, Rasputin. But when an old school friend turns up with a secret from the past, nothing will ever be the same again.

Meanwhile teenager Rosie is excited to find a bottle washed up on Tremarnock beach with a message from a former German prisoner of war. While the rest of the village is up in arms about a new housing development, she sets out to find him. Little does she know, however, that her discovery will unleash a shocking chain of events that threatens to blow her family apart.

Tremarnock may look like a cosy backwater, but some of its residents are about to come face to face with tough decisions and cold reality....

Missing Content from the audible recording.

The book is fine up until the end of Chapter 17 when a section of the book is missing and you start Chapter 18 wondering what you have missed as it doesn't make sense. Got a printed copy from the library to check and there is indeed content missing from the audible recording. Spoke to Audible who did not resolve the problem. The story is another good one in a series I have listened to and enjoy although I wish the narrator would check the pronunciation of the Cornish names.

There's definitely a few chapters missing

There is definitely a chapter missing at the end of 17 as a sentence cuts off and then 18 doesn't make sense. Also pretty sure there are chapters missing at the end as the book just stops without story lines resolved like there are in other books in the series... very disappointing and a waste of money.

Very enjoyable

I have listened to all of the Tremarnock series and was not disappointed with this one. I particularly liked the Esme story line and felt it was covered in a respectful and endearing way. Once again, a good story, familiar characters and excellent narration. I await the next one with pleasurable anticipation.....

Shame about the ending

Good read and some great characters and the storyline was good and held promise but sadly I felt the ending a bit boring and bland.

Lovely to hear how the characters have moved on

Lovely to see the characters story development but sadly one of the chapters are missing on the audible version (in between 17&18 so will need to read the paper book to put the pieces together that are missing for 2 of the characters, but looking forward to the next instalment....

If you live in Cornwall your ears will bleed!!

Really got excited to listen to the next instalment in this series but nearly gave up within the first chapters!! Not because of the story it’s great to catch up with the characters but with the appalling pronunciation of simple Cornish place names such as Lelant, Falmouth and Marazion!!!

Please please please use narrators who can pronounce such simple place names correctly so those of us who live here aren’t sent screaming every time they are uttered incorrectly and our experiences ruined!!

So disappointed in this audio experience but had no choice but to put up with the narrator’s ignorance to listen to the story ☹️ Such a shame 😞
