Overly Dramatic Reading Voice

I'm enjoying the story line of these books and looking forward to the next book. Unfortunately I'm finding it difficult to listen to the narrator. It feels like every sentence is read with great drama, which is often not necessary. I think I will need to buy the books to read then in a calmer voice.
