Publisher's Summary

The world has ended. At least we still have dogs.

My name's Griz.

I've never been to school, I've never had friends, in my whole life I've not met enough people to play a game of football. My parents told me how crowded the world used to be, before all the people went away, but we were never lonely on our remote island. We had each other, and our dogs.

Then the thief came.

He told stories of the deserted towns and cities beyond our horizons. I liked him - until I woke to find he had stolen my dog. So I chased him out into the ruins of the world.

I just want to get my dog back, but I found more than I ever imagined was possible. More about how the world ended. More about what my family's real story is. More about what really matters.

A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World is an extremely moving story. Perfect for fans of Life of Pi, The Girl with All the Gifts or Station Eleven - Griz's dystopian tale mixes sadness and hope in one unforgettable character's quest after the apocalypse.

Gorgeously enjoyable story

I really enjoyed this book. The narration was superb and easy to listen to, and the story was just a delight. Although occasionally slow going, it was lovely to view this strange new world through such innocent but clever eyes. I initially thought it would be lovely to share with my 12yr old daughter but there was a bit of adult content towards the end so she will have to wait a while.
I would absolutely recommend this story.

A beautiful story.

A well crafted story about the end of the world. Written in a gentle but gripping way with so many twists and turns and
shocks. The author paints a beautiful and truly human version of our future. Well read by a true storyteller .

Completely engaging

Loved the author’s voice and the whole experience was heartfelt and at times heart stopping! I’m so relieved Gris made it through with both dogs as this became my quest too, sometimes I didn’t want to go on!
I wonder if there will be a sequel? thank you for the opportunity to experience this world and it’s characters!

Surprised by Joy

Lovely listen. Full of surprises, some intense moments and a genuine true love of dogs.... if you’re going on an adventure, take your dog while you look for the other one.

Best book in years

This is my new absolutely favourite book.
I read the hard copy first, then I read it again, then I bought the audiobook version read by the author. Then I tried to contact that author (a first for me) to tell him how much I appreciated his book.
Just a great adventure, beautifully told. Unique, original, great characters and storyline. Loved it!
