Better delivery than story
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed this book, stayed with it til the end. I like Charlaine Harris's prose, it's very easy on the war. The narrator was excellent and really got to grips with the accent and sway of the south. I loved listening to her. But what let this down was the story. Or rather the lack of it. As a kind of crime fiction this really left a lot to be desired, hardly any clues to tease the reader with. The solution really just appeared in the lap of the lead. Rather disappointing- but as I've said, lots of things I've like but I'll maybe say goodbye to Aurora for now

A Wonderful Read .. Well .. Listen!!
I have seen a few of the Aurora T films and thought it was time I read all the books. I concluded I don't have the time, so listening, for me, is the perfect solution. This book is so good, narration spot on, inflections in just the right places, it moves along at such a lovely pace, you can't wait to find out if you guessed correctly who did what !!

Aurora Teagarden mystery
What made the experience of listening to A Bone to Pick the most enjoyable?
The quality of the narrating is very good and allows the listener to relax and enjoy the story.
What other book might you compare A Bone to Pick to, and why?
I enjoy a wide variety of 'cozy' murder mysteries and I would put the Aurora Teagarden series in this group.
The Sue Grafton Kinsey Milhone are another mystery series that I enjoy, but I think these are less 'cosy'
What about Therese Plummer’s performance did you like?
Therese Plummer manages to narrate with drama, while making the whole experience of listening to the story relaxing.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Aurora inherites a fortune, but is that all...

A ggod enough beach read
For something undemanding to snooze to under a beach umbrella this would do very well. The pace is not fast, the characters are non-threatening and all in all it's a safe read.
