Great to find a Police Procedural

This was a refreshing book for as the main character was driven to succeed because that was her MO. Not driven by childhood anxt etc and having to prove themselves - that stuff ulis so very tedious.

Change of narrator

A much better listening experience now that Marion Todd has relinquished the narration. This story line wasn’t quite as strong as some of her others but still another good challenge for Detective Clare MacKay.

Narration lacking

I’ve listened to all the DI C MacKay books so far and enjoyed each one. This one was a struggle though. The story was good but the narration left a lot to be desired. There was little change in tone, some of the males characters were spoken as though they were children, often it was difficult to work out who was speaking. All of this detracted from the story. It was very like Helen did not like the story and was bored. I do hope that another narrator is employed for the next book or Marion returns to read again.
