I learnt alot and have started applying some of what I learnt from this, in my own life. I'd love to hear a second season expanding even further!

An intelligent, thought-provoking and comprehensively researched podcast which prompts us to start a conversation about not only our food choices, but how food is produced. In an unbiased way, it reminds us that land stewardship is our collective responsibility and that all life forms have a role to play in order for our ecosystems to thrive. It is informative, challenging and objective - essential listening.

An interesting look from Rachel's, point-of-view, given, of the global shift as speedy adaptation of vast portions of the populatio to plant based eating. As she puts it "she has skin in the game" and has built a career on advocating cooking and eating the foods we're now being asked by the UN, scientists and researchers to steer away from. I enjoyed the conversations about biodiversity, wilding, enlightened and stewardship agricultural farming. Rachel's advocating that as consumers, though it can be confusing, it's up to us the exercise our right to choose enmasse which will in affect drive down demand enabling better farming practices to become more widespread and financially viable. I.E. we have the power to affect change and the UN's call to minimise animal product consumption particularly factory farmed products will help. Aside from the moral and ethical debate around 'taking a life to sustain a life' being unnecessary, Rachel tackling the 'bigger' issue - currently at hand - of the negative environmental impact of colonial and more recently industrialised animal farming is having, was good to listen to. Since most of us are by now abundantly aware of how out of balance humanity is with nature and the planet, I admire her choice to turn back the clock and return to her Grandmothers era of eating & acknowledging she plans to start eating majority plant based interspersed with minimal but high quality and ethical and sustainably sourced animal products. Her reaffirmation that processed food is still an unwise choice, even if plant based. Despite the global environmental benefits. That was food for thought. This was an informative and enjoyable series. Listening to Rachel's Carnivore in Crisis journey was enlightening. She aired and mirrored many of my concerns over this debate. 'With great power comes great responsibility'.

This podcast was really interesting and brought forth the issues agriculture is actually causing but also looks at why it is causing and how can be fixed. This particular topic is rarely looked at from a mainstream view and it is an important one as it shows that simply going vegan is not necessarily going to fix the planet when the very farming methods are trying the earth too. While it is a very tailored view towards finding reasons not to give up dairy and meat (and I am so for it and it is why I listened as I can't give up those two things either) it still wasn't scared of asking the questions all omnivores cringe away from. completely recommend!

In the past five years, I've been vegetarian, vegan(ish), and a meat-eater. At every junction, I've tried my best to process the complicated feelings I have about the way I—and the rest of the world—consume meat and dairy, and all the things that influence our choices. This podcast interrogates every one of these influences from culture, to sustainability, to health and nutrition, to animal cruelty in a thoughtful, practical, and judgement-free way. I appreciate the care and research that went into every episode and though I still haven't decided where I land within the meat-eating debate, this podcast has reminded me why it's such a personal and incredibly complex decision. Highly recommend!
