関羽、張飛、趙雲らの勇将に加え、諸葛亮孔明と澄統士元の２人の軍師を有し、荊州の地を手中に収めた劉備玄徳。そのとき、蜀では異変が起こっていた。漢中に勢力をはる張魯が、その野心を蜀に向け、攻めてくるというのであった。蜀の劉璋が派遣した使者・張松は、曹操に謁見するも追い出され、劉備玄徳に助けを乞うため荊州へと向かう。
遂に蜀に入り、蜀に援軍を派遣して協力するうち、本心から蜀を手に入れることを決意した玄徳の戦いの行方とは・・・？
