足立区綾瀬に本社を置く中央シャッター/横引シャッター。社員33人の中小企業だ。従来上げ下げしていたシャッターを横開きできるように開発して、「上吊り式横引きシャッター」として特許を取得、駅の売店などに多く採用されている。
小さい会社だからこそできることを愚直に追い求めた結果、定年のない雇用、病気になっても安心して働ける職場づくりを行ってきた「横引シャッター」。その考え方の根本には、仕事を人に当てはめるのではなく、人に合わせて仕事をつくっていくという市川慎次郎社長の思いがある。
「人を大切にする経営」に至るまでの道のりは平坦ではなかった。9億円の借金、激減した社員とゼロからの出発、コロナ禍……。きれいごとだけでは経営はできないが、社員の幸せのために動くことで、会社の業績も上がった。
