Publisher's Summary

Job is one of the most interesting characters who has ever lived is because of his sore. Job overcame one of the severest trials that we have ever read about in the newspaper, or heard on the news channel. His loss included the death of several children, all of his assets, a disease that tortured his body, and a wife that encouraged him to curse God and die. If anyone ever had a reason to doubt that God loved him- this man did. If anyone ever had an excuse to be mad at God-this man did. If anyone has ever had a reason to take his own life and end it all-this man did. Yet, Job did none of these things.

In the midst of his sore trial, Job did something extraordinary, something amazing, something wonderful, something that very few ever think about or realize that they can do, that they should do…Job gave God glory. That simple premise is what this audiobook is all about. It is what Job’s story is all about. It is showing us how to give God glory in the midst of human sufferinh when it seems all is lost. Yes, that is why we are down here on planet earth. And the greatest moment to give Him glory is not when things are going good. It is when we are going through a sore trial. The battle between the devil and the children of light began long ago–and it continues to rage today. Therefore, Job’s great trial was not so different from our own. We have real problems, a real devil, and a real God, that we may also find ourselves at odds with.

Job reaches a summit of spiritual experience that only the faithful will climb. Some have cursed God in their trial, descended into a world of apathy, confusion, sought their doctors, tranquilizers, numbed their senses, and essentially, given up. Some have taken their own lives. Others have deemed their troubles to chance or bad luck, rather than peering into a world unseen by the natural eye…a world of angels, demons, and a sovereign God.

They have determined that life has no real meaning, and surrendered the town of man-soul to the enemy. The book of Job shouts in our face and says, “Take it back!” If Job survived in the midst of great suffering, so can we. If God blessed Job in the end of his trial, he will bless us as well. Many listen to Job’s story, scratch their heads, and hope all of this never happens to them. We would prefer to remain anonymous, pretend these things do not exist, and avoid the spiritual warfare raging all around us. Yet, pretend as we may, there is a world of spirits that surround us, spiritual war raging all about us. Whether we like it or not, we are all involved in it.
