 徳島県鳴門市、大麻比古神社（おおあさひこじんじゃ）は、阿波一宮。古代、阿波に勢力を誇った、忌部氏が祖神を祀った神社である。忌部氏は、出雲、紀伊、讃岐などに広がり、それぞれの地の特産品を献じた。阿波の忌部が献じたのは、麻であり、それが神社名の由来となっている。麻は、衣服の原料として重要であるとともに、神事に用いる神聖な植物でもあった。現代の神社でも祓に用いる神具の名は「大麻」であるし、御札も「大麻」と呼ばれる。そして、忌部氏は、天の岩戸開き以来の、神話にまで遡る祭祀氏族であった。「穢れを忌む」ことで神事に臨む氏族なのである。阿波の忌部氏は、朝廷の祭祀を司る忌部氏に連なる人々として、神聖な植物・麻を栽培した。その阿波忌部氏の一部は、古代、黒潮に乗って、千葉県の房総半島へ移住した。「安房」とは「阿波」にちなむ地名であり、「上総」「下総」の「総」とは、麻の古名にちなむものという。房総半島の先端近くには安房一宮・安房神社が建ち、忌部氏の祖神を祀る。他、房総には忌部氏にまつわる神社が。麻の聖性と、摂関藤原家の同族・中臣氏に役割を奪われ衰微した、古代の祭祀氏族の足跡を辿る。語り：高橋御山人　聞き役：盛池雄峰(C)高橋御山人2015 Travel Writing & Commentary
